In an annual review meeting organized by the Small Claims Procedure (SCP) Registry, chaired by Hon. Justice Geoffrey Kiryabwire, judicial officers gathered at Kaliro Country Resort in Kaliro. The meeting aimed to facilitate the sharing of best practices, addressing challenges, and planning for enhanced performance among implementers.

Hon. Justice Kiryabwire emphasized the importance of accurate statistics submissions, as they are crucial for evaluating performance within the Registry. He commended Chief Magistrate Iganga, HW Koboko Epobu Daniel, for recovering over Shs200 million through SCP, mostly at the demand notice level, setting a positive example for others.

During the event, Hon. Justice Batema highlighted the simplicity of the SCP procedure and encouraged participants to work towards its success in their respective jurisdictions.

The meeting witnessed the participation of 15 judicial officers and key staff involved in SCP implementation under the Iganga High Court Circuit. In discussions, it became evident that many courts face a significant challenge involving companies attempting to circumvent SCP rules by using proxies to file lawsuits on their behalf.
