In a meeting held on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, Hon. Justice Dr. Henry Isabirye Kawesa, the Resident Judge of Tororo High Court, discussed the upcoming criminal session in Busia Chief Magistrates Court. The session will involve handling a total of 35 cases.
Various stakeholders attended this pre-session meeting, including representatives from the Uganda Police Force, Office of the Director of Public Prosecution, the LC V Chairperson, Uganda Prisons Services, as well as Judicial Officers and members of the public.
All the cases scheduled for this month-long High Court session originate from Busia, aiming to bring judicial services closer to the local community. The cases to be addressed during this session include murder, aggravated defilement, and aggravated robbery, among others.
