Gov’t to upgrade Health centre 11s, to level 3. – Minister Muhwezi.

Rukungiri– The minister of Security who doubles as the Rujumbura county Member of Parliament Rtd. Maj. Gen. Jim K Muhwezi has revealed that the government of Uganda through the ministry of health is planning to upgrade all health centre IIs to level 3 across the country in order to provide better and modern health services to Citizens (people).

“In a phased manner, the government of Uganda through the ministry of health is planning to upgrade all health centers 2s to 3s. The government is also going to upgrade those at level 3 to level 4 across the country’’ Minister Muhwezi on Monday 17th.11.2025.

According to Minister Muhwezi, The government plans to have health centre 4s in all constituencies since they will be serving a population of over 50,000 people and then a district hospital in every district in addition to a regional referral hospital that will be serving a population of over 3 million people.

While addressing a public rally at Kakindo trading center in Kakindo parish Bugangari sub- county Rukungiri district, Minister Muhwezi said the government is also planning to put medical doctors at sub- county level to work in the health center 3’s that will be put up by the government .

‘’ Because of increasing salaries of all health workers, there are very many doctors who are applying to work with the government and this will enable us to provide near medical care services to our local Ugandans ’’. Minister Muhwezi added.

The minister added that ‘’The move is in line with the policy of the ministry of health and NRM manifesto, which seeks to stop expectant mothers from walking for more than 5 kilometers to access Antenatal Care services’’.

The minister used the same platform and rallied Rukungiri people to vote for the NRM government because of its good manifesto.

‘’Our manifesto is aiming at addressing people’s problems and it is the only manifesto that will see Uganda limping from middle income status to a high status because we are protecting the gains. It is these gains that will limp us to another level thus social- economic transformation’’. He added.

On his side, Minister Muhwezi asked the Rujumbura people to vote him as their member of parliament for the last time.

‘’Extending water and electricity to all villages of Rujumbura County is my mission so don’t kill my mission’’ Minister Muhwezi added.

He also promised to continue supporting church activities, schools, roads and bridges construction, enforcing implementation of government programs among others.

Minister Muhwezi is in the race for Rujumbura county parliamentary seat with 9 people on NRM party ticket. Among them is PFF’s Fred Turyamuhweza Tumuheirwe, Herbert Magezi on independent ticket, John Paddy Owomugisha, independent candidate, Hillary Tumuhimbise Tusiime, NUP candidate,  Simon Niwagaba independent candidate, Gerald Karenzi Kooli independent candidate Junior Murebire Rwendire independent candidate, FDC’s Naabasa Ariho among others.

In Rukungiri municipality, the Ex- Minister of Security Rtd. Lt. Gen Henry Tumkunde who is competing for Rukungiri municipality parliamentary seat on NRM ticket vowed to transform Rukungiri town in a better and modern town.

‘’ Our town lacks a lot of things, talk of street lights, drainage systems, sorry stated roads, lack of a modern market, garbage collection and waste management problems among others. Once voted as the area mp I promise to work on them’’. Lt.Gen .Tumukunde told a public rally in Western division of Rukungiri municipality.

He promised them to advocate for a public university and district referral hospital.

‘’ We demand a lot from this government because we participated in bringing it into power so this is the time when we should start demanding and ask president Museveni what we want as Rukungiri people. Among them I will tell him that we badly need a university and a district hospital’’  Gen Tumkunde added.

Gen Tumukunde is in the race with PFF’s Ingrid Kamateneti Turinawe and other 2 independent candidates that are Dr Wallen Niwagaba Tumwine and Mr. Richard Akanyijuka.

In Rubabo County, PFF’s Naboth Namanya, also the current area mp, promised his voters that he will continue with his plans of developing the constituency as usual.

‘’ I have been with you both in happy and sad moments. You know what I have done towards the development of our area. I have built bridges, contributed fuel for road expansion and renovation, contributed funds towards school construction and renovations. So vote me again such that I can finalize what is left.’’ Mr Namanya told a public rally at Buyanja town council stadium in Buyanja town council Rukungiri district.

The area mp also promised Rubabo that he fellow the presidential pledge of making Uganda martyr’s technical institute a branch of Mabarara university of science and technology, upgrading of Kisiizi- Kebisoni road, equipping of Kebisoni health center 4 with modern health equipments among others once voted again as the area mp.

Hon Namanya is in the race for Rubabo county parliamentary seat with 10 people .Among them is NRM’s Mathias Rwabugumi, Andrew Niwabine independent candidate, Dp’s Eunice Shabamagara, Earnest Ngabirano Katara independent candidate,  Maureen Tumwebaze independent candidate, FDC’s Allan Nabaasa among others.
