Rukungiri – The National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi commonly known as Bobi Wine has asked Ugandans to withdraw their trust from the National Resistance Movement ( NRM) government.

Addressing his supporters at a public campaign rally in Rukungiri district at Omukagashe playground in Eastern division Rukungiri municipality in Rukungiri district yesterday 12th.Nov.2025, Kyagulanyi who accompanied by his wife Barbara Kyagulanyi said after nearly four decades in power, President Yoweri Museveni and his NRM leadership have  totally failed to meet the aspirations of Ugandans, calling for political change.

‘’ This is the right time to vote president Museveni and his people out of power. For sure you have trusted him with your votes and am sure you have gained nothing so let’s co-operate and kick him out for a better Uganda’’ Mr Kyagulanyi said.

Mr Kyagulanyi added ‘’ enough is enough on 15th January 2026, kindly vote for me and I will reward you by freeing your son Dr Kizza Besigye who is rotting in jail for no good reason ‘’.

He also asked the people of Rukungiri not to be deceived by NRM People and vote for president Museveni again.

‘’ I know president Museveni will be campaigning in Rukungiri district also. Am asking  you not to attend his rally because he has lied to you for what is enough so don’t listen to his lies again’’ Mr Kyagulanyi added.

The NUP Presidential candidate also delivered a fiery message of unity and reconciliation accusing President Yoweri Museveni for sowing tribal divisions to maintain power

He therefore urged them to reject the “divide-and-rule” tactics that have fractured national brotherhood for decades.

‘’We are brothers and there is no good reason as to why we should fight one another. Our enemy is disunity and Museveni knows it’’ He noted.

He warned that tribal suspicion, fueled by decades of political manipulation, has repeatedly undermined efforts to bring democratic change.

“Because of disunity and lack of reconciliation that’s why we fail in every election. It is from this point that am asking you not to fight each but we instead work together and fight the current system that has made us enemies,” he said

Mr Kyagulanyi also promised the people of Rukungiri that he will free their son Dr Kizza Besigye and other political prisoners who are rotting in jail for no good reason.

‘’ I love your son Dr Kizza Besigye  because he is the one who opened our eyes and we started this struggle of Liberating our country Uganda from the poor, corrupt and incompetent leadership of Mr Museveni and his people. So vote for me and leave the rest to me ‘’ Mr Kyagulanyi added.

On his manifesto, Mr Kyagulanyi promised to restore equal opportunities for all Ugandans.

” My leadership will work for all irrespective of color or tribe. Am from Buganda but I married from Ankole region. That only tells you that every person in Uganda matters and needs to treated equally because we are Ugandans” Mr Kyagulanyi said.

Mr Kyagulanyi added ” My government will also tackle the issue of unemployment among Ugandan youth, improve service delivery across the country, promotion of Justice and bringing back of rule of law and constitution among others “.
