The Police in Rukungiri District has recovered a gun that was stolen from private security in August this year while on his duty at Rubabo SACCO in Nyakishenyi.
The gun was stolen from Julius Byamukama, an employee of Millennium Security Company who was deployed to guard at Rubabo People’s Sacco at Omukiragiro trading centre, Nyakishenyi branch in Nyakishenyi Sub-county early last month.
The LC 111 Chairperson Nyakishenyi, Wednesday Twinomujuni said the gun was recovered by a woman only identified as Jenifer who had gone dig in her garden just a few meters to the Sacco premises
He added that it was the second gun to be stolen from Nyakishenyi Sub County in one year and People were living in fear over stolen guns but at least since one has been recovered residents will have time to sleep.
He praised the residents for the cooperation exhibited during the hunt and recovery of the gun before it caused any harm and urged them to keep the spirit in looking for the other one which was also stolen from another security guard.
