As the Commonwealth Speakers and Presiding Officers’ Conference (CSPOC) kicks off at Speke Resort Munyonyo from January 3 to 6, 2024, the Ugandan Police have released traffic guidelines and restrictions for the affected roads. With Uganda hosting the 27th conference, the Police are advising the public to exercise caution and adhere to the specified routes.
Michael Kananura, the spokesperson for the Police’s Traffic Directorate, emphasized the enforcement of traffic restrictions and the implementation of alternate routes as directed by traffic officers during the conference period. He urged the general public to prioritize the safety of conference delegates and comply with directives issued by the Traffic Police.
In a statement shared on social media, Kananura emphasized the expected increase in activities on various routes leading to Speke Resort Munyonyo throughout the conference. Travelers with flights from Entebbe International Airport are particularly advised to plan their journeys ahead to avoid potential inconveniences caused by the heightened conference-related traffic.

The CSPOC, established in 1969, brings together Speakers and Presiding Officers of National Parliaments from independent sovereign states of the Commonwealth. Kananura highlighted that the Traffic Police will provide continuous updates on both the ongoing conference and the upcoming Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) activities.
