The Minister of Justice and Constitution Hon. Norbert Mao has vowed to dig up the dirt of former Democratic Party (DP) cum National Unity Platform (NUP) MP and opposition leader Rt. Hon. Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba.
According to Mao, he had withdrawn from clashes with his former opposition comrades, but he would have no choice but to continue mocking them, as he was “fed up and tired” with their hypocrisy. Mao has played a key role in the leadership of the National Unity Platform party since its leader, Bobi Wine, broke away from the DP and founded his own party. However, when Museveni appointed him minister after fulfilling the terms of what was known as the “Cooperation Agreement”, Mao stopped publicly attacking the NUP.
“To @HEBobiwine I hear you loud and clear on Dialogue and I respect your position though I consider it ill advised, myopic and reckless. You be the thunder. Let me be the rain!”- Nobert Mao Tweeted Via His @norbertmao Handle

His tweet comes a day after NUP party leader Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine denied claims that as opposition they had engaged in secret negotiations that later would lead to the release of the NUP legislators.
Bobi Wine, 41, at a news conference on Thursday said his party is open to negotiations if it is interested in a transition from military rule to civilian democracy.
“We made it clear that we are open to transparent and genuine dialogue which has a clear agenda and that agenda ladies and gentlemen has to include transition from a military dictatorship to democracy,” Bobi Wine Said On Thursday
Mpuuga’s dilemma is also Robert Kyagulanyi’s. This is the dilemma of opposition politics in Uganda, especially where the more sophisticated brand of autocracy Museveni is ingrained. Negotiating with Museveni seems the only option left if opposition politicians want to get the job done.
The results are immediate, such as the release of political prisoners, the treatment of the sick and elderly – as MP Abed Bwanika insists on treating his colleague Betty Nambooze in the United States of America, and more.
But any negotiations with Museveni would mean making major compromises (including silence, ignoring corruption, nepotism, long stays, and all of Museveni’s other crimes). . This significantly undermines the political promise of Delta Force, on which NUPs are elected and want to be identified with.
