England: Manchester United have sacked head coach Ruben Amorim replacing him with Darren Fletcher as the care taking Manager.
The sacking of Ruben Amorim follows yesterday ‘s Sunday draw with Leeds united.
The decision was taken less than 24 hours after Amorim openly challenged the club’s hierarchy, insisting he was hired to be a manager, not merely a coach, and warning that he would not tolerate intrusion into football matters.

In a brief statement, United said with the club sitting sixth in the Premier League, the leadership has “reluctantly made the decision that it is the right time to make a change”.
“This will give the team the best opportunity of the highest possible Premier League finish,” the statement said.
The club would like to thank Ruben for his contribution to the club and wishes him well for the future. Darren Fletcher will take charge of the team against Burnley on Wednesday” The statement added.
Amorim joined Manchester United in November 2024, signing a three-year contract.
He departs the club he led to a UEFA Europa League Final in Bilbao in May with 18 months remaining on his deal.
