Uganda Cranes attacking midfielder Allan Okello has joined Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC on a three-year contract.

The 23-year-old, who is a free agent after leaving Algerian side Paradou AC, is the latest addition to the Kitende-based club’s squad ahead of the 2023/24 season.

Okello is a highly-rated midfielder who has been tipped for big things in the future. He rose to prominence as a 16-year-old at KCCA FC, where he won two Uganda Premier League titles and was named FUFA Male Player of the Year in 2019.

He joined Paradou AC in 2020, but spent last season on loan at KCCA, where he scored five goals and provided eight assists in the Uganda Premier League.

Okello is excited to join Vipers and is looking forward to helping the club achieve success.

“I am so happy to join Vipers Sports Club! I am so excited to be here at this big club and l didn’t have to think twice when Vipers called me, l just knew l wanted to sign for the club. I can’t wait to get started with the team,” he said.

Vipers Sporting Director Charles Masembe is confident that Okello will be a valuable addition to the squad.

“Okello arrives with experience of winning domestic titles and adds further quality and versatility to our attacking unit,” he said.

Okello is expected to make his debut for Vipers in the coming weeks.
