The Kabale district Town Clerk Southern division Mr. Beingana Alex assisted by the new Resident District Commissioner Mr. Godfrey Nyakahuma have today 03rd Nov. 2021 allowed the re-opening of Mwanjari weekly market in Southern division Kabale Municipality which has been closed for almost half a year now.
This follows the previous presidential address dated on 22nd Sept 2021 in which His Excellence Yoweri Kaguta directed that all the weekly markets in the districts of Soroti, Kampala, Kalungu and Kabale should re-open after a clear assurance that they follow the Covid 19 guidelines.
The incident happened today at around the mid-day at the Southern division offices in Mwanjari. This was after the traders of Mwanjari weekly market went with their commodities along the road saying that they are not happy for being closed since June this year.
The town clerk southern division Mr. Beingana confirmed the re-opening of the market and said he took orders from the RDC kabale district Mr. Godfrey Nyakahuma regarding this issue.

The chairperson of the market Mrs. Teddy Tababaru also confirmed the re-opening of the market. She added that they are happy as they can now resume their daily trade activities around the area after a long waiting due to the pandemic of covid19 which forced the market to close.
Alice Musimenta a trader of the same market said she has been working there since 1990. She expressed her happiness upon receiving the news of the market re-opening and added that they will properly follow the standard operating procedures of covid that the leaders put in place.
The traders have been cautioned to respect their health by strictly sanitizing, ensuring social distance, washing hands and wearing face masks when running their activities around the area.
