Rukungiri– The Minister of security who doubles as the Rujumbura county of Member of Parliament Rtd Maj.Gen. Jim K Muhwezi has advised Sacco Leaders across the country to respect people’s money a thing that will see their Saccos develop from one stage to another.
Speaking as the guest of honor at the 24th Annual general meeting of Nyarwanya Sacco in Bugangari sub- county Rukungiri district, Minister Muhwezi who was represented by his political assistant Isaac Kaharuza said that the mismanagement and lack of respect for people money are some of the key factors that have contributed to downfall and collapse of Saccos and banks in Uganda asking them to desist from that habit.
The minister used the same platform and asked public to embrace government programs aiming at chasing poverty at house hold levels.
Speaking at the same function, the Rukungiri police commander Apollo Kyangungu said that his office is very much ready to arrest whoever defaults Sacco’s money asking people to always service their loans in time to avoid such arrests.
Can. Wycliff Mackey Twinomujuni, the Sacco board Chairperson called for co-operation among the Sacco members saying that co-operation is a key to development.
To support Sacco’s development, Minister Muhwezi donated shs. 10 Million to help the Sacco in her operations.
