One person died on the spot, and another was admitted to the hospital after a fatal accident involving a Link bus and a motorcycle along Mubende highway this Thursday afternoon.
The accident occurred at Kalamba trading centre in Kiganda town council in Kassanda district, along the Mityana to Mubende Kasese Highway.
The bus, registration number UBD 108A that was heading to Fort Portal, knocked a bodaboda cyclist who was carrying a passenger. The cyclist died on the spot.
Police spokesperson for the Wamala region, Racheal Kawala, identified the deceased as Stanley Bahemuka, a resident of Bbuye in Mityana Municipality.
Bahemuka was riding a Bajaj Motorcycle, registration number UDZ 100Z carrying Sharon Nalugo heading to Mubende when they got the accident.
Nalugo was rushed to Kiganda Health Centre while in critical conditions.
Kawala said that both the motorcycle and bus were parked at Kiganda Police Station while investigations continue.
