An incident was reported yesterday in Kazo District, Rwizi region on 26th Jan 2022 where Mr. John Nuwahereza Tumuranye of the same area was suspected to have murdered his own son Johnson Mwesigye aged 03 years in cold blood.
According to the reporter, Fedrensi Behairaho who is also the grand mother of the deceased, she said that the deceased was picked from her home during day by the father together with the cousin Joel Vivian aged 04 years to go and collect maize from the garden.
When they returned home, the deceased was nowhere to be seen which prompted the grandmother to carry out a search for him in the garden knowing that the father has a history of seasonal mental illness.
On reaching the garden, Behairaho found her grand son staggering while bleeding from the neck where he had a deep cut and couldn’t talk. He was rushed to the nearby clinic for treatment but later pronounced dead.
After the police received this report at around 09:45 pm, it swang into action and arrested the suspect where he is being detained at Kazo Central police Station.
The body was after taken to Kazo Health Centre iv for postmortem while the witnesses recorded their statements at the police.
The murder case was filed at the police on registration number CRB114/2022 as more interrogations continue.
