Despite the police offering a cash reward of Shs20 million earlier this week for information leading to the identification, arrest of suspects, and the recovery of the weapon used in the attempted murder of Pastor Aloysius Bugingo and the murder of his guard Richard Muhumuza, no suspect has been apprehended yet.
Mr. Fred Enanga, the police spokesperson, revealed that as of yesterday, the Special Investigations Department had not provided any fresh updates on the shooting. “I don’t have any updates on arrests and investigation from SID as of now regarding any arrests,” he stated.
Detectives involved in the investigation, who chose to remain anonymous, disclosed that they have not made any arrests, and the firearm used in the incident has not been recovered. Despite the lack of tangible progress, the detectives expressed optimism, stating that they have gathered some clues on the suspect and are hopeful of making an arrest soon, along with the recovery of the weapon.

The incident, involving the attempted murder of Pastor Aloysius Bugingo and the tragic death of his guard, has prompted an intensified investigative effort by the police. The cash reward was announced earlier to encourage individuals with information to come forward and assist in resolving the case.
