Kampala -Several roads in Kampala city have today been cut off by flooding following a heavy down pour that hit city in the morning hours of today.
Some of the cut off roads are Banda, Kyambogo, and Kinawataka (Katogo) among others.
Michael Kananura, the Traffic Police spokesperson asked motorists and other road users to use the Northern Bypass as an alternative route to avoid delays.
He also called for patience from those affected, saying that situation will soon normalize once the water subsides.
“Due to heavy rainfall this morning, the areas of Banda, Kyambogo & Kinawataka (Katogo) have become impassable”. Kananura said in a statement.
The flooding is the latest in a series of traffic disruptions caused by heavy rains in Kampala.
Authorities are monitoring the situation, and police have called for public cooperation as efforts continue to ease congestion.
