PADER – The Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) have appealed to Ugandans to remain calm after seizing more bomb-making items from the suspected suicide bomber in Pader.
The UPDF spokesperson, Brig. Gen. Flavia Byekwaso, in the press statement issued on Friday morning, revealed that they had seized an assortment of home-making bomb material including; bomb carrier bags, ball bearings, suicide vests, Detonators, Ammonium Sulphate, Wire Cutters, Switches, and Mobile phones used to detonate the bombs.
Army says they recovered these from Mikicha Guesthouse, located along Canigula road, in Pader Town Council, Pader district.

Security is currently holding one Abdul Katumba alias Ben as a prime suspect in the foiled suicide bomb attack.

“Investigations so far indicate that the suspect had intent of disrupting the funeral proceedings of the late Maj. Gen. Paul Lokech,” the army statement reads in parts.
It further indicates that there are other suspects in the heinous crime who are still at large but have been identified and operations are ongoing to ensure that they are also apprehended.
