The National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) office in Kololo will be out of bounds to the general public on Tuesday.

This is to allow the Authority plan for a national event where President Yoweri Museveni is expected to pass 97 cadet assistant superintendents of prisons and 267 non-commissioned officers

NIRA has since directed all clients to its five division offices, adding that technical staff will be beefed up in those offices to support operations.

“Our clients shall access national identification services registration and issuance of cards normally through our offices in the respective divisions of Kampala,” read a notice that was shared by NIRA on Monday.

Birth and death registration services including dropping off forms and picking completed certificates shall continue to be provided at the NIRA division offices and through the authority’s service desk at Georgian House, George Street.

Clients can also access some of the services online.
