
Two youth who had applied to join the Local Defence Unit (LDU) recruitment, died during the process, the army has said.
The two applicants include; Stuart Abitegeka from Kiryandongo district and Solomon Amone from Lira.

According to the army spokesperson, Brig. Flavia Byekwaso, the two died during the physical exercise session.
She stressed that the postmortem for Abitegeka indicated that he was hypertensive, which could have triggered an acute heart failure thus resulting in his death.
Amone, 28, from Adyel Ward in Lira City West Division, is said to have collapsed after running 2.5km.
Running was part of the tests for the recruits to prove their body fitness before being recruited into the force for main training.
Byekwaso said the UPDF fraternity condoles with the bereaved families.
The army target to recruit another 10,000 LDUs.
