Airtel Uganda recently concluded its monthly golf tournament, with senior golfer Emmanuel Mwaka emerging as the winner by scoring 43 points at the Kitante Golf Course.
In collaboration with the Uganda Golf Club, Airtel Uganda regularly hosts “Airtel’s Wednesday Club Nights,” a popular club night event where golfers can engage with the brand and win various prizes. These events lead up to a larger monthly club night activation at the end of each month.
The September monthly tournament featured 120 golfers who competed on a 72-par course at the Uganda Golf Club. Participants received Airtel-branded umbrellas, Airtel 4G Smartphones, and Airtel 4GMiFi devices that can connect up to 10 users with 15GB of free data.
Emmanuel Mwaka outperformed over 120 skilled competitors to secure the September championship title, serving as an inspiration to young Ugandans to pursue their passions with dedication. His prize included an Airtel Broadband – 4G Unit worth shs 250,000 with 51 GB of free data, capable of connecting up to 32 users.
Other category winners included Hassan Kiyemba with 20 points in Group A, Mutegyeki Chris with 23 points in Group B, Dean Kateesa Kato with 22 points in Group C, and Musanabera Berna Nsenga, who claimed the top spot in the ladies’ category with 21 points. Many other talented participants showcased their skills on the course.
David Birungi, the Airtel Uganda Public Relations Manager, highlighted the partnership with Uganda Golf Club and the company’s commitment to supporting sports and entertainment culture in Uganda. He encouraged sports enthusiasts to participate in the Airtel Uganda Initial Public Offering (IPO) as a means to secure their financial future and grow their savings.
Birungi emphasized Airtel Uganda’s contributions to the country’s social and economic development and reiterated their commitment to promoting sports excellence in Uganda through various initiatives, including their partnership with the Uganda Golf Club.
