According to information obtained by our reporter, Majid met his death around 5 am on Friday morning when a police officer from Abuku police station opened fire during an operation to arrest his brother, Tairi Ali, who they wanted for raping and defiling a teenager.
Swali Etima, the Abuku Sub County LC III Chairperson has also called upon the residents to allow police officers to perform their duties without any interference, however, he castigated the Police officers assigned to arrest the suspect for side-lining the relevant local authorities.
Dr. Sazir Mayanja Nsubuga, Koboko Resident District Commissioner confirmed the incident but blamed residents for attacking police, which prompted them to open fire.
