National Medical Stores has said it is prioritizing the delivery of COVID-19 vaccines across the country to enable those eligible for their second jabs to get inoculated.
As of Saturday (September 4), it is also prioritizing the delivery of children’s vaccines as well as personal protective equipment for health workers.

‘NMS would like to inform the general public that delivery of one cycle of routine medicines to health facilities has been delayed. This is because NMS prioritized distribution of PPEs, COVID vaccines and vaccines for children,’ the organisation said in a public notice Saturday evening.
Alongside that message came the reassurance that that delivery of other medicines has now begun across the country.
NMS is tasked with procuring, storing and distributing human medication and health-related consumable items to government-owned health units in all districts of Uganda.
Meanwhile, the health ministry spokesperson Emmanuel Ainebyoona said the public can access vaccines in all divisions of Kampala and other vaccination sites in Mukono and Wakiso districts starting Monday until Friday next week.
