Micho summons 33 Local-based players ahead of World Cup qualifiers

Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin Sredojevic has summoned a 33-man squad of locally-based players to commence preparations for the doubleheader against neighbours Rwanda in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Cranes will face Rwanda away in Kigali on October 7 before they host them at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende four days later.

Cranes’ preparations started on Sunday after the team returned from Mbale for the Uganda Cranes Regional Tour which the team won 1-0 against the Eastern Region select side.

The team also conducted a training session on Monday evening at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

The foreign-based players will be added to the squad later.

Cranes are in Group E with leaders Mali (4 points) and second-placed Kenya (2 points).

Uganda is third with two points while Rwanda is bottom with one point with two games so far played
