
James Mubiru, the National Unity Platform’s Lubaga North councilor elect, who missed his scheduled swearing-in ceremony in May as he was arrested 6 months ago allegedly found wearing a red beret which is a monopoly of the armed forces to Take Oath Monday 13th Septemember 2021
The swearing-in schedule of KCCA Lord Councilors, Mubiru was meant to take oath in May 26th 2021 in KCCA Lord Mayor’s Garden in Kampala.

According to KCCA Council , Councilors elect who don’t show up during the general swearing-in ceremony for reasons communicated to the clerk of KCCA Council prior, can be rescheduled for the same when they are ready.

it is remembered that Mubiru was arrested on March 12, 2021 from Kasubi and charged with wearing a red beret, nearly resembling one authorised for use by the members of the Defense Forces as to likely deceive the public
Mubiru was released on bail by the General Court Martial (GCM) on sh10m, not cash on Tuesday 31st last Month, in a ruling delivered by the GCM chairman, Lt. Gen Andrew Gutti.
‘Considering the prosecution and defence submissions, this court hereby releases you, James Mubiru, on bail. You are, therefore, ordered to execute sh10m, not cash,’ Gutti ruled.
