Bwanga spent the night in police custody at Kikyusa Police station and was on Friday transferred to Kampala Central Police Station for further questioning.
In a tweet, SHACU noted, “Bwanga allegedly impersonates as SHACU staff. She spent the night in police custody at Kikyusa Police station, Luweero and was this morning transferred to Kampala Central Police Station for further questioning.
This follows allegations of land grabbing, tormenting, and causing arrest of wanainchi who happen to own the land in question.”

However, it remains unclear whether SHACU had also arrested the armed men in full police uniform who travel with Bwanga with a lead car.
Bwanga’s name has featured in a number of land grabbing incidents in the country.
In 2019, Bwanga forcefully laid claim to 14 acres of prime Makerere University land in Makindye and even processed fake titles for the same land.
She also commandeered police to effect arrest of Makerere Security staff which also comprised of police deployment to guard the land.
