The 2nd in command (2IC) of the 3rd division in Moroto, Major-General, Eriazile Sake Okolong, has cautioned the public to be on the lookout for conmen, who are masquerading as recruitment officers in the ongoing Local Defence Unit (LDU) recruitment.
Okolong who is currently overseeing the LDU recruitment in the five regions of East Kyoga, Karamoja, Sebei, Bugisu and Busoga said recruitment into UPDF is free.
‘No one should be charged any money,’ he emphasised.
Maj. Gen Okolong expressed joy over the overwhelming number of applicants in all the districts, particularly Teso, saying those who have done some training on top of UCE documents stand a high chance of being recruited.
UPDF targets to recruit 10,000 LDUs countrywide.
