The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has hit at the National Unity Platform (NUP) saying it doesn’t need anybody’s permission in the struggle for change.
Last week, the opposition movement led helmed by FDC was launched to push for regime change in Uganda.
NUP which is the leading opposition party in Parliament didn’t join the new pressure group unlike other major opposition parties.
However, FDC president Patrick Amuriat on Sunday took aim at NUP, saying it doesn’t have to lead any struggle for change.
‘Leading opposition in Parliament doesn’t have to lead any struggle against a dictator if they don’t wish, are not prepared, or have no capacity to,’ he stated on Twitter.

When contacted last week to explain why NUP didn’t warm up to the idea of joining the new political coalition, NUP spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi said there are enough entities.
“We declined to join this entity because we already have enough entities,” Ssenyonyi who is also the Nakawa West MP told the press on Friday.
