The Chief Political Commissar of the Uganda Police, AIGP Asan Kasingye has raised a red flag towards motorists faking Covid 19 certificates to get a free pass at roadblocks.
AIGP Kasingye says police have noted with concern that a section of Ugandans have started forging covid 19 positive results to be allowed passage on roads.
“Some Ugandans have chosen to get fake positive Covid-19 certificates. When they are stopped by Police, they flash out the papers & claim they are going for treatment. Our officers quickly wave them off than risk “catching” it. We now have health teams to take them for admission,” Kasingye said.
He says police have now discovered their tricks and with the help of deployed medical personnel, all those feigning illness will pay a tough price for it.
“Let them now know that most hospitals require depositing millions after admission. So, we shall take them for admission rather than wave them off,” he added.
