Over the weekend, the Dokolo central police station experienced an escape that has left the authorities scratching their heads.

The North Kyoga police spokesperson, Patrick Jimmy Okema, revealed that 11 suspects fled from their cell and are currently at large.

The situation is dire, and the police have made an appeal to the public for any information that may lead to the re-arrest of the suspects. The escapees have been identified as Raymond Okwang, Innocent Owiny, Allan Adep, Daniel Okwir, Ivan Epong, Michael Eboga, Oscar Ebwor, Aaron Oryee, Patrick Ekadu, Ronald Okodi, and Isaac Okello.

According to Okema, nine of the escapees were awaiting court appearances, while two were still under investigation.

The circumstances surrounding the jailbreak are still under investigation. The two officers on guard duty during the cell break have been arrested to aid with the investigation. Their identities have been withheld from the public for security reasons.

The preliminary findings suggest that the cell was not tampered with at the time of the escape. Instead, the suspects escaped through an opening in the ventilation where a metallic bar was cut. The police are puzzled as to how the suspects managed to carry out such a daring escape without being noticed.

The public has been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities. The escaped suspects are considered dangerous, and anyone who comes into contact with them should exercise extreme caution. It is essential that the authorities recapture these individuals as soon as possible to prevent any potential danger to the public.

The Dokolo central police station has also promised to review its security measures to prevent any future occurrences of jailbreaks. They have assured the public that they take their responsibility seriously and will do everything in their power to ensure the safety and security of everyone in their custody.
