It is alleged that Mary Odongo 48, killed her husband Alfred Odongo 57, on August 9, 2021.
It is reported that the deceased returned from drinking and asked for food while his wife Mary was still cooking so Odongo decided to pick the pot of beans and started eating.

This made the wife so furious that’s she started quarreling forcing Odongo to pour the food down in revenge.
Mary started beating Odongo’s head with a saucepan and later a fight intensified leading to the death of Odongo.
Mary fled her home in Atir village, Awelo parish in Olwa sub-county and on Tuesday handed herself to Police at Amugu police station in Alebtong district after the incident.
The area councilor Awelo parish, Olwa sub-county Sam Akoko confirmed the incident saying the suspect escaped and ran to her home in Amugu sub-county in Alebtong district.
The suspect is still in detention at Amugu police station pending her repatriation to Amuria where she committed the offense.
Akoko asked the community to try to ensure that they have some food in the house and avoid over drinking since hunger is likely to bite as a result of prolonged dry spell.
