Forum for Democratic Change Party, has distanced itself from rumors that have been circulating on social media that the four -time presidential candidate, Dr Kiiza Besigye is fighting with the National Unity Platform Party president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu for political space.
Speaking during the launch of the People’s Front for Transition at Hill top hotel in Kabale municipality, over the weekend, the FDC president and former presidential candidate, Patrick Oboi Amuriati, revealed that there is no fight between Dr. Besigye and the NUP’s Robert Kyagulanyi for any political position.
He said that all political parties that are aimed at liberating Uganda from what he called a dictatorial government, were called upon to join efforts and come up with one voice to out compete the ruling National Resistance Movement that has ruled Uganda for now 36 years.

On side of whether Dr. Besigye is plotting a deal to form another political party to weaken the Forum for Democratic Change, Amuriati said that the People’s Front for Transition strategy has nothing to do with the FDC, adding that Dr Besigye is still a member of the FDC as a secretary for mobilization for Rukungiri district.
Last month the NUP’s Secretary General, Lewis Rubongoya, had revealed that NUP is not against the People’s Front for Transition.
The president of the conservative party and the former Lubaga South Constituency Member of Parliament, Ken Lukyamuzi, said that the People’s Front for Transition intends to reinstate regional governments, in order to enable citizens to directly benefit from government programs.
He also opposed a move by president Museveni to scrap off bail and bond rights from the constitution.
Last month, the leader of the People’s Front Transition Dr. Kiiza Besigye launched the Red Front Agenda, which is meant to achieve a political transition.
He argued that the transition would be achieved through ensuring rule of law, restoring and respecting the constitution, national healing and reconciliation among others.
