Ugx 140M Mobile Digital X-Ray Machine excites Locals.

Rukungiri – Residents of Bugangari, Ruhinda and Bwambara sub-counties all in Rukungiri district are living in smiles following the donation of Ugx 140 M mobile x- ray machine by the government of Uganda to Rukungiri district to boost healthcare services has excited locals in Rukungiri district .

The official handover ceremony took place at the Bugangari health center 4 in Bugangari sub- county Rukungiri district amid excitement and anticipation from locals.

The donated  a mobile digital X-ray machine is equipped with computer-aided detection (CAD) through Ministry of Health, aimed at enhancing health services in hard-to-reach areas.

The mobile X-ray machine worth 140 million shillings was handed over to the health department and will be stationed at Bugangari HC IV to support outreach services in rift valley sub-counties of Bugangari, Ruhinda and Bwambara all in Rukungiri district.

While receiving the equipment, The Rukungiri Resident District Commissioner (RDC)  Mr Nsubuga Bewayo Stephen hailed the Government and  the Ministry of Health for the donation .

” Like many other rural areas, our district has been faced persistent challenges in providing comprehensive healthcare, especially in diagnostic services but with the donation of this mobile x- ray machine am sure the situation is going to change.” Mr Bewayo said.

RDC Bewayo appealed to the public to take advantage of this service by seeking timely medical attention, noting that early diagnosis saves lives.

” This  machine is yours, the government has dona ted it to you and it will be offering free services.So your role as locals is to protect it “. RDC Bewayo added.

He urged staff and the facility stakeholders to ensure that the machine is strictly used for public benefit and maintained in good conditions.

Speaking at the same function, the Rukungiri district chairperson Mr Geoffrey Kyomukama emphasized that the machine is expected to reduce the burden on Referral Hospitals and eliminate the need for residents to seek costly X-ray services at private clinics.

” As Rukungiri district we are  very much appreciatitive . I I observed the ceremony.This mobile digital X-ray machine is more than just a piece of equipment but a relief to community.” Mr Kyomukama said.

The Rukungiri district health officer DrAkasiima  Mucunguzi expressed his enthusiasm. “This machine is a game-changer for us,” she said. “It  will enhances our capacity to diagnose and treat illnesses promptly.

The DHO added ”  The digital aspect ensures high-quality images, and the portability means we can reach even the most remote villages. It’s a huge boost for our healthcare system.”

Mr Benson Mugisha 56, a resident of Bwambara sub-county in Rukungiri district hailed the government for supporting with an x – ray machine.

” Finally the government has also thought about us.  We have been traveling long distances to access specialized treatment in Rukungiri town but with this machine the sky is the limit”. Mr Mugisha said.

Ms Kyatuhaire Bony, 45 , a mother of 4 and a resident of Ruhinda sub-county is very much optimistic that the donated Machine is a great relief to rural women who have been traveling to Rukungiri town seeking x – ray machine services.

” I must thank the government of Uganda for this donation. This machine will help us alot “.Ms Bony said
