OYAM:
Two primary schools in Oyam district Constructed by Sino Hydro and Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited at the cost of 2.7 Billion shillings has been handed over to the community today.
The two schools were among the traditional primary schools in Oyam but their structures was in a sorry state, now both have got new structures, the two schools are Nora Primary school in Kamdini sub-county and Amaji primary school in Kamdini town council Oyam district.
At Nora Primary school two new blocks with six classes were Constructed together with administration black it cost 1.2 billion shillings.
While at Amaji primary school two new blocks with 6 classes fully equipped with furniture, a computer room, a library, administration blocks, a Mordent VIP latrine, and Dormitory for both Boys and Girls were built and the solar panels were also fully equipped for learners at school, all cost 1.7 billion shillings.
During the handover ceremony, the chief project officer Sino hydro Mr Isaac Arinaitwe says the structures built is part of their support to the community of Oyam district as is a request made by district officials to the company.
He assured the community for more support from the company as the company is looking towards constructing Nora health center lll which is already in their budget plan.
RDC Oyam Hope Atuhaire appreciated the Sino hydro and UEGC limited for supporting schools and health centers in Oyam district, and she urged Community to protect the school building as they support their children to study hard for a better performance
Last year in PLE 2022 Nora Primary school got one pupil in division One while Amaji primary school didn’t get any pupils in Division One.
