Rukungiri-The minister of Security who doubles as the Rujumbura county Member of Parliament and the NRM party flag bearer for Rujumbura County Rtd.Maj.Gen.Jim K Muhwezi has described the people’s Front for Freedom (PFF) Party as a headless since it failed to field party presidential candidate.
‘’Don’t trust your votes with the PFF party because it is headless and it has no presidential candidate whom the party candidates will work with once voted to represent you at different political positions. It is from this point that I request you to massively vote for the NRM government for continued service delivery’’.
Addressing his supporters at his last campaign rally Kasoroza trading center in Nyakagyeme sub-county Rukungiri district, Minister Muhwezi who was accompanied by his wife, Ms Susan Muhwezi cautioned voters to desist from giving mandate to inexperienced politicians, especially from the Opposition whose focus is frustrating government’s developmental initiatives.
“Don’t take risky decisions of voting out the NRM government from power which you will later regret. Vote for the NRM government and demand your needs because we have been tested and you well know our track record on development’’ Mr Muhwezi added.
The minister also outlined projects that shall be worked on very soon including the Rukungiri- mitooma , Rukiga Kisiizi- Kebisoni Roads , electricity and water extension to all villages of Rujumbura constituency .
The minister also promised his Supporters that in his last office he will push for the split of Rujumbura county into Rujumbura North and Rujumbura south once voted again.
‘’ In my last term of office, I promise you that I advocate for the split of Rujumbura county because it is too big compared to other counties neighboring us ’’.Mr Muhwezi added.
He also urged Ugandans to embrace the opportunities provided by NRM programs, emphasizing that peace, development, and wealth creation remain the pillars of the party’s agenda.
‘’ The NRM government has introduced many poverty fighting programs like PDM, Youth livelihood, women empowerment among others. Am only asking you to embrace them and work for the development of your families’’ He added.
The Rukungiri district NRM voice chairperson Mr Ambrose Kibuuka called on residents of Rukungiri to turn out in large numbers and support President Museveni and the NRM and other party flag bearers saying the party remains the strongest guarantor of Uganda’s unity and peace.
.“As you come here today, remember that this enthusiasm should translate into votes. We are looking at 95 percent and above,” He said.
He also urged them to ensure that no one is left behind on polling day. “These numbers you see here should not be for this rally only. When January 15, 2026 comes, go out and vote. Do not leave anyone at home. Let everyone participate,”. He said.

Minister Muhwezi is completing for Rujumbura county member of parliament seat with the Former MP Fred Turyamuhweza Tumuheirwe of PFF Party, Gerald Karenzi Kooli Independent candidate and Simon Niwagaba also Independent.
