KAARO KARUNGI | RUKIGA – Police In Rukiga district are investigating circumstances under which a 36 year old man murdered his aunt and later commited suicide.
The suspect I’d Frank Karuhanga a resident of Nyamihanga cell, Nyakasiru Parish in Bukinda Subcounty in Rukiga district.
It’s alleged that on Friday night 7th May 2021 murdered his maternal aunt Bakahabwa Lydia 49 using a panga.
The deceased has come to visit the relatives at home.
Bakashaba Lydia got married In Kibale cell , Mparo Towncouncil where her remains were yet to be taken for burial.
Karuhanga Frank later commited suicide by hanging himself in a tree in Karubanda cell,Nyakasiru Parish in Bukinda Subcounty. The chairman LC1 Nyamihanga Cell Mr Pollycap Kamugisha has confirmed the incidence.
He said the murder could have resulted from land wrangles .
By the time of publication, police from Bukinda had already visited the scene as inquiries were still going on.
