Making sugarcane juice its not multi-tasking activity,uwizigiye constatin finds doubling his income than selling ordinary fiber sugarcane.
People believe that tasking your self to make sugarcane juice is a waste of time since buyers are used of fiber sugarcane.
This is because many sugarcane hawkers lack machines to join the business, with fiber sugarcane a buyer needs to be selective but when buying to produce juice their is no need to be selective thus making sugarcane supplies available.
The juice is usually consumed by the students from makerere university and evening people from work.
According to uwizigiye constatin, he started making sugarcane juice from “busega” in 2015 after discovering that there was untapped demand for the juice.
“Because of this demand, I purchased a manual juice machine at one million, when i so the progress in the way i was making money,i then bought an electic machine that doesn’t need energy for my wife to fully make money in Kampala,”uwizigiye says
“consuming sugarcane juice missed with gigger, lemons, juice comes with a number of health benefits, given the fact that it has natural sugar.”he added
The business has earns him 50000 per day and has managed to buy a plot of land in kasubi worthy 15 millions from the manual old machine, “I expect much more in the electric sugarcane machine”he remarks
The challenge of his business is lacks a stable well located place for his business and also a lot of capital is needed to buy a coolant to keep the juice safe and cold for customers.
Extraction process of sugarcane juice,Generally three roller mills are used for juice extraction. It’s driven by electrical motor or diesel engine.This extraction of juice is in the range of 60 to 70 per cent. After extraction of juice, suspended matters are removed by cotton cloth or fine mesh screen.
Clarification of juice,The sugarcane juice contains colloidal matter, inorganic salts, fibre, various nitrogenous substances, lipids, gums, wax organic acid and inorganic acid. All these impurities are removed totally or partially in this clarification process.
