Busia Region member of Parliament (MP), Macho Geoffrey has tasked ministers to initially march their children and girls to go for Nyege before they OK it for others’ children and little girls.
Showing up before Parliament today, Speaker Rt. Hon. Anita Among, who has been mad about Nyege show informed the house that subsequent to having a meeting with the executive, Parliament won’t change.
” This afternoon we had a meeting with a team from the Executive. Of course the team and the meeting were not meant to persuade us to get out of our position. We are still in our position as legislators but what is to be done is the role of the Executive, for us we have given our position as a legislator that we are not in for whatever is happening so it is left to the Executive, ” She Said.

Macho demanded that there is a need to battle for the trustworthiness of Parliament to be free. That’s what he said on the off chance that Parliament articulates itself on a matter, its position should be regarded by the executive.
” If the Executive sees nyege nyege as a good thing, let ministers first clear their sons and daughters to go before they say it is okay for other people’s sons and daughters to go for the event, ” he noted.

He demanded that as Parliament, they should be severe on this and laid down the law and say no on the grounds that a culture accompanies moral rot.
Answering worries raised by legislators on the issue of Nyege celebration, Clergyman for ICT and Public Direction, Chris Baryomunsi requested that Parliament give the Chief opportunity to deal with the matter.
The major concern being raised by Parliament are issues to do with morality and definitely, all of us agree there is nobody who would want their children to be engaged in immoral activities. ”
He revealed that they concurred that there is need major areas of strength for, which is an element of the executive thus they will deal with the matter.
” We beg that you give us time in handling the matter as Executive. ”
Baryomunsi further underscored that the place of Public Obstruction Development (NRM) Government is that Ugandans ought to uninhibitedly partake in their nation however inside the law.
The Speaker anyway promised that no one will at any point overwhelm the House insofar as she is the Speaker of Parliament.
