Kisiizi hospital celebrates Nurses and Midwives day: Nurses asked to act professionally.

Rukungiri– The Uganda nurses and midwives council manager  Ms Mubeezi Parpetua Mary has asked the nurses and Midwives at Kisiizi hospital in Rukungiri district to love their job despite challenges they encounter.

Speaking as the guest of honor during  the hospital nurses and midwives celebrations that took place at the facility, Ms Mubeezi who was represented by Ms Jannipher Nambalirwa Mateega, said that the country cannot function without their presence asking also handle patients with alot of safety and care.

She also asked them to act under their professional code of conduct and always follow rules and regulations of UNMC as they carry out their duties in wards 

The Rubabo county member of parliament Hon. Naboth Namanya  who was represented by Alex Bukiriro asked the nurses and midwives at Kisiizi hospital to desist from acts that can harm their image in public.

The Kisiizi hospital administrator Moses Mugume asked the nurses to be good nurses and to always do their work proudly.

The Rukungiri district Acting assistant health officer Ms Apophia Katwizere asked the nurses  and Midwives to respect and valve their jobs saying that they are few government jobs and they are very hard to get.

Sr Rachel Ayabare,  the chairperson of nurses and midwives at Kisiizi hospital said that the lack of ambulance to help them in transportation of patients from villages to facility and from facility to other facilities for specialized treatment makes their hard and difficult.

The national nurses and mid wives celebrations were celebrated in last week in kumi district under the theme Nurse’s power to change the world and it was honored by the president by president of Uganda H.E. YK Museveni who thanked Nurses and mid wives for saving Ugandans whenever they fail sick.
