
There is a brewing panic and fear among the staff and supporters of jailed Lubaga North Lord councillor Mubiru james, as security allegedly infringes into his privacy.
Kaaro Karungi has learned that in the wee hours of yesterday Mubiru started leaving all Whatsapp groups that he was subscribing to and yet every one know he is still languishing in the gallows.

Talking to his personal secretary a one Ddungu Kayemba Emmanuel, Kaaro Karungi learned that Mubiru’s phones were confiscated by state military on the fateful day he was arrested and that he has no access to the said phones.


Seeing a prisoner exiting almost all the whatsapp groups he has been subscribing to has caused life threats to group participants and his personal contacts with many accusing the state of violating their rights to private life in guise of access to information.
Article 27 of the constitution provides the rights to access to information
“The Constitution of Uganda, 1995, under article 27 provides for citizens’ right to privacy. Uganda is also party to a
Rights (article 12) and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights”
This act stops one from infringing into another’s privacy while they exercise their rights.
Mubiru’s close contacts have since blocked their whatsapp accounts in bid for their safety but no one can tell what’s next as security allegedly has a database of all the chats.
Mubiru’s personal secretary Ddungu Kayemba Emmanuel said all efforts to get to his boss are futile as the said numbers that left the different groups are off something that has left all participants in these groups in fear as they believe they have been infiltrated by the state.
Mubiru James is NUP Lubaga North elected councillor who was arrested 5 months ago for unlawful possession of military store and his still in detention in Makindye Barracks.
