Rukungiri: With only few days left to the polling day for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party primary elections, the Rukungiri municipality member of Parliament Dr Elisa Rutahigwa has asked the people of Rukungiri municipality to give him the flag and wait for rewards only.
The mp who is battlefield for the party flag told the residents of western division in Rukungiri municipality to vote him since he is only one with a potential of transforming Rukungiri municipality into a better place of living.
” I first thank you for the votes you gave me last time. Am here again seeking your support. I know you will vote me because I have at least done what I promised “. Dr Rutahigwa said during the official launch of his campaigns an event that took place at Kahororo Primary School playground in Western Division, Rukungiri Municipality.
In his address, Dr Rutahigwa highlighted some of his achievements like rehabilitation of roads, construction of bridges, provision of clean water through tanks and boreholes, and support to schools, churches, and communities with items such as iron sheets, cement, and furniture.
” Once given, the flag I will prioritize the renovation of Rukungiri Main Stadium, lobby for the construction of the Central Market, tarmacking of roads in Rukungiri town, and installation of street lights through the USMID program among others”. Dr Rutahigwa said.
He also assured the public that once given the flag , he will finalize Rukungiri district hospital and increase access to piped water because a health community works for development.

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) party will on 17th.July.2025 choose party flag bearers and the mode of voting will be lining behind the candidate.
