Former South Kawempe Member of Parliament and Forum For Democratic Change (FDC) Strong man Hon Mubarak Munyagwa has said that President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa deserves criticism instead of his ministers.
The politician highlighted how the President has warned I.G.G, Beti Namisango Kamya against launching the lifestyle check.
Remember that Kamya had previously proposed an audit of the lifestyle of civil servants. This was to see if their livelihood matches the salary they earn.
President Museveni stopped her with the argument that it would instead get them to take the money out of Uganda. Obviously, if they invest here, it will help the economy grow despite the corruption.
According to Munyagwa, Museveni seems to be aware of corruption among his ministers. Therefore, it is he who should be criticized instead of these ministers because he defends them.
“Hon. Beti Kamya wanted to propose a lifestyle audit, but President Museveni warned her against it. He seems to be aware of the corrupt individuals in his administration. They should censure him instead of his ministers.” Munyagwa Said While Appearing On NBS Eagle Program
The former MP added that the current regime was built on corruption. In fact, if the Bible had been written before this regime, Munyagwa believes there would be a book documenting its brutality.
“If the NRM party existed before the Bible was written, there would be a book dedicated to chronicling their thievery. The country is governed by gazetted thieves who engage in large-scale stealing.” He Added
This followed the scandal of the iron sheets intended for Karamoja at the Prime Minister’s office. High-ranking government officials appear to have defrauded and embezzled these iron plates. Among the officials who took the iron plates was the former Speaker of the Parliament, Hon. Rebecca Kadaga.
Although she said she used them to roof a medical center and a school destroyed by the hail, Kadaga was heavily criticized.
Another main Minister on the top of the saga is Minister Mary Gorreti Kitutu.
