Rukungiri -The former Rukungiri municipality Member of Parliament Mr Mugume Roland Kaginda yesterday 30th.June 2025 told Rukungiri people to forget Forum for democratic Change saying that the party died and it was sold to President Museveni and his NRM government.
Hon Kaginda said this during the Launch of People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) party membership cards an event that took place at Rozella Hotel in southern division Rukungiri municipality.
The launch event started with a procession through Rukungiri town and ended at Rozella Hotel n the Southern Division of Rukungiri Municipality where to he party officials officially introduced the membership card to a gathering of party supporters at the hotel.
While addressing the party members,Hon Mugume Rolland Kaginda urged party members not to prioritize individual candidates over the party.
” The party is bigger than any individual. Am therefore encouraging you to support whoever the PFF secretariat nominates to contest in the 2026 general elections “.Mr Kaginda said.
Mr Kaginda also told the party members to forget forum for democratic Change (FDC) party saying that the party was sold to President Museveni and his NRM government.
” Please forgot FDC count it like a dead one because it was sold to President Museveni and his corrupt NRM government. PFF is now our party and it’s where our son Dr Kizza Besigye belongs. I therefore ask you to rally behind PPF as your new political party “. Mr Kaginda added.
The Rukungiri district PFF Chairperson Mr Aloysius Mugarura said the card issuance exercise will be extended to Sub-county levels to ensure that all members accross the district can easily access the membership card.
” Very soon we shall be issuing out party cards at Sub- county levels. This is to ensure that we extend party services nearer to the people because we well know that they are old persons who find it hard to travel from villages to town to access such services.” Mr Mugurara said.
The Former Rukungiri district Woman member of Parliament Ms Betty Bamukwatsa Muzanira, encouraged all members to register with the party by obtaining a membership card at the PFF office in Rukungiri town for 5,000 Uganda Shillings.
” These cards are not of charge. We charge you shs.5000 to help the party in the day today running of the party activities”.Mr Bamukwatsa said.
She also called on those interested in contesting in the upcoming elections to pick nomination forms from the same office.
” The forms are available at our party offices. So let everyone with an interest of running for any political seat should come for nominations forms”. Ms Bamukwatsa added.
