Rukungiri – Rukungiri based radio Station Boona FM Yesterday Monday 23rd .June .2025 officially launched Ekiguutuuro Ruhenda Myambi, an event that will mark the radio’s 8th year of service.
The event was officially launched by the managing director of Boona radio Maanige Wenceslas during a press conference that took place at Platinum Classic Suites in Buyanja town council Rukungiri district.

Maanige told the press that the event will take place on 12th .July .2025 in the district main stadium saying that this year’s Ekigutuuro Ruhenda Myambi is aimed at giving back to the community, especially traders who have been supporting the station since it’s establishment.
The director added that the activities of this year’s event are also designed to benefit the community.
The Station Manager Kakyene Namanya said this year’s event is totally unique in its way adding that the event will greatly attract Masses from Kigezi , Western , central and outside Uganda.

The manager used the platform and asked all listeners of 91.8 Boona radio to come in big numbers and witness how the station will celebrate it’s 8th year in operation.
He also noted that the mobilization efforts will continue right up to the event’s date.
The programs director at Radio Boona Isaac Bernard Tushabe expressed gratitude for the progress made since the previous event, highlighting extensive outreach initiatives.
The Station’s Marketing officer Michael Kasozi thanked the sponsors of the event like MTN Uganda, Pepsi Uganda , Rukungiri Farmers Sacco for accepting to work with Boona radio as business partners.
He also asked local business to take advantage of this event and make some money.
Ms Mary Paula Turyahikayo, the former Rubabo county member of Parliament and co-director of the station hailed the government of Uganda under the leadership of president Museveni for creating a favourable environment for media privatization, which has enabled Boona FM’s growth.
The former legislator used the same platform and announced plans for a future television station and highlighted the station’s commitment to community service and talent development.
