The National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine’s bodyguard, Eddie Mutwe, has said he will wed “very soon”.
Mutwe, whose official name is Edward Ssebuufu, said he was buoyed up by the wedding of his friend and singer Nubian Li, Kyagulanyi’s confidant.
Nubian Li, whose official name is Ali Bukeni, wedded his long-time girlfriend Gloria Mutoni on October 10 at Kibuli Mosque in Kampala.
Kyagulanyi and wife Barbara were best man and matron, respectively.
“Congratulations Ras Nubian Li ekisima wakimpade (you have given me courage) era (and) very soon…” Mutwe said on Facebook on October 11.
Mutwe’s wife was blessed with a bouncing baby boy about five months ago and Kyagulanyi, who describes him as his brother, was on cloud nine once he had the news.
“Mother and baby are in good health condition. We give thanks to God. Even if he (Mutwe) is still locked up in Kitalya Prison for no reason. I hope this news will warm his heart and make him strong,” he said on Facebook, without revealing the name of Mutwe’s wife.
Mutwe and Nubian Li were among 17 NUP supporters who were granted bail in June by the General Court Martial after spending six months on remand following their arrest in December last year on Kyagulanyi’s presidential campaign trail.
Mutwe is now back in his salon to make ends meet, while Nubian Li continues to sing.
