Kanungu: Ms Betty Namara Kataba of National Resistance movement ( NRM) party flag bearer for Kanungu district woman member of parliament has been duly nominated by the Electoral Commission to contest in the upcoming general elections.
Ms Kataba was nominated today 22rd.Oct.2025 and officially allowed to seek powers from Kanungu people as a way of representing them in the 12th parliament of Uganda.
Addressing the press shortly after her nomination, Ms Kataba asked the people of Kanungu to trust her with their votes and wait for a transformed Kanungu district.
She also promised to be a stronger voice and advocate for the well being of all local women and men in Kanungu district once given mandate.
Ms Kataba noted that her term of office will focus on improving health care, improving the district’s infrastructure and uplifting the lives of people in Kanungu district.
She also pledged to work closely with other district leaders and government agencies to ensure that essential services reach all corners of the district.
She further called for unity and co-operation saying that cooperation is the only thing that will help her to transform Kanungu into a better place of living.
