The Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) has called on the government to come up with a comprehensive plan for schools reopening.
The party boss and founder, Maj Gen. Gregory Mugisha Muntu, said there is a need for an urgent plan that enables students to go back to school.
“We want to know how the government plans to do this because many countries have re-opened. This pandemic is not ending today, and we also anticipate the third wave. We need to know what they intend to do and when so that we stop speculating,” he said.

He stressed that millions of young people’s future remain at stake if nothing is done because they are growing and getting exposed to many things.
“We do not want to remain in speculations. Even now parents go to work using public means and interact with many people and later go back home every evening. This means children are not protected at home,” Muntu noted.
