Police in Mitooma district are holding a Church Of Uganda reverend for allegedly defiling and impregnating a 16 year old girl.
The Reverend whose names have been withheld or security reasons was a curate at Nyarutuntu church mahungye parish in kigarama archdeaconry, Mitooma District
According to the Mitooma Resident District Commissioner, Adah Nansiima who ordered for the arrest of the 56 year old Reverend , said at the time of the arrest, the reverend had started negotiating with the family of the girl to have matters sorted amicably.
The RDC Mitooma District, Nansiima, confirmed that the Reverend is currently detained at Mitooma police station and the girl who had attempted to abort and failed is admitted at Mitooma Health Centre IV.
