“I urge all students to prepare for the examinations and to maintain the highest degree of integrity for which Makerere is known,” said Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe.”

Students of Makerere University who did not complete all their examinations have been given starting September 13 to sit their remaining papers.

“Today Makerere Senate discussed the alternative arrangements for conducting examinations for our continuing students. All is set for the examinations to commence on September 13. I urge all students to prepare for the examinations and to maintain the highest degree of integrity for which Makerere is known,” said Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe, the University Vice-Chancellor.

A source at the university, who did not want to be named because they are not the institution’s spokesperson, revealed that the new exam date is to allow students who did not complete their examinations, before the second lockdown was imposed, to do so.

“When schools were reopened after the first lockdown, the university conducted exams in a phased manner to allow for proper observance of the SOPs.

However, the second lockdown came in before all the students could finish their papers. So, it’s that lot that will be examined on September 13,” the source said.
