A two-year-old girl identified as Purity Owaruhanga, her father Michael Byaruhanga, 47, and one Lylen Tushabe, 45, died on the spot following an accident that involved a Toyota Premio registration number UAR 776V.
The accident occurred at Kebitakuri village, Kakore Parish, in Hamurwa sub-county, in Rubanda district, along Kabale-Kisoro Road.
The Kigezi regional Police spokesperson Elly Maate told Kaaro Karungi News that the accident occurred on Monday at around 7:30 pm.
Police added that Byaruhanga has been a resident of Ntaranga village, in Byaruhanga Parish, Ikumba sub-county, while Tushabe has been a resident of Rutoma village, in Kashenyi Parish, Bubare sub-county, in Rubanda district.
Police also revealed that two other female pedestrians whose particulars could not be traced are currently admitted at Rugarama Hospital in Kabale district following the accident.
‘Inquiries to the cause of the accident are still in progress while the driver of the killer vehicle is still on the run,’ said Maate.
