The prosecution is still investigating the murder case against Uganda Peoples Defense Air Force (UPDAF) soldier accused of shooting his commander.
L/Cpl Max Omutojo, 42, is facing a murder charge at the Makindye-based General Court Martial after he allegedly shot his senior Maj. Sulaiman Wafula dead.
It is alleged that on May 8, 2020, at Nakasongola Barracks, Omutojo shot Wafula causing his immediate death.

It was during the lockdown after the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country that Omutojo asked for permission from Wafula to go home and settle land wrangles between family members, a request that Wafula objected to.
It is further alleged that Wafula stopped Omutojo from travelling as the President had restricted movements to stop the spread of coronavirus, but Omutojo took out his gun and shot Wafula.
He was arraigned in court and charged with murder which he denied having committed.
Representing the state, Capt Ambrose Guma told the court on Monday when the matter came up for mention, that investigations are still ongoing and that the file was forwarded to the Special Investigations Bureau in Kireka for further handling.
Guma prayed an adjournment to the September 21 which was not objected to thus Omutojo was remanded to Makindye Military Quarter Guard until then.
