Vipers Sports Club have unveiled Brazilian Roberto Oliveira as their new coach at St Mary’s stadium, Kitende.
The former Gor Mahia coach has signed a three year deal with the four time league champions. He will be assisted by Marcelo Cardoso from Portugal.
Oliveira replaces Fred Kajoba who resigned last June citing a misunderstanding between him and the club’s technical director, Charles Masembe.
The new coach at Kitende joins after former head coach Fred Kajoba departed the club on May 31.
Then, Paul Kiwanuka was put in temporary charge but the season was eventually ended due to Covid19 and the Venoms finished the season in third behind eventual champions Express and URA FC.
He joins a list of foreign tacticians to have coached the Venoms including Javier Martinez and Miguel Duarte Da Costa.

The tale of Vipers SC being synonymous with struggles in finding stability with the technical department have been as rampant as they have been true.
In recent memory, Vipers have hired and sacked at the same time over ten football coaches including Edward Golola whose plight has been reminisced on three occasions.
Abdallah Mubiru, George Best Nsimbe, Miguel Da Costa and Javier Martinez make the list of managers that have been shown an exit door at Kitende.
The club director, Lawrence Mulindwa, has been quoted to say that he will not stop at taking a gamble until he stumbles on the right manager who will not only guarantee success but also player development at the club.
Robertinho indeed ticks all the right boxes – A coach with a heavy resume and a serious force to reckon with.
“We mentioned that there was a vacuum and we promised that we had to replace with a person who can take up that responsibility,” stated Mulindwa.
“We needed a coach with strategic skills, someone with a vision, a coach is basically a teacher and we have got the right man.”q⁰
